Funeral services for Billie Baker will be held on Friday, October 17, 2017, at the Oregon Trail Veterans' Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with military honors by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard Mr. Baker, age 80, passed away on September 28, 2014, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Baker was born in Riverton, Wyoming, July 6, 1934, to Albert and Emaline Baker. He attended school in Worland, Wyoming, thereafter helping his father on the family farm and later working for the Burlington railroad until he was drafted into the Army in 1955. He served two years, being honorably discharged as Sp4 (E4) in 1957. Mr. Baker married Ruby Bruner of Gatesville, Texas, and worked for the Ford dealership there until her death, when he returned to Worland, Wyoming. Mr. Baker married Laurellee Kelley on November 16, 1961 in Worland, Wyoming. They then moved to Riverton, Wyoming, and then to Medicine Bow, Wyoming, where they lived for five years, and their daughter, Christine, was born. He worked for the Chevrolet dealership there. He worked for the Ford and Chevrolet dealerships in Casper for many years and had his own repair shop for fifteen years. Interests and hobbies were many, including antique cars and trucks, trains, carpentry/wood projects, western pocketbooks, western movies. Upon retirement, he took several welding classes in the seniors program at Casper College and made several horseshoe projects. Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 53 years, Laurellee, daughter Christine, grandsons Mitchell and Trenton, brother Richard Baker, sisters Bettie Grant and Shirley Ernest, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ruby, sisters Ruth, Esther, Lillian, Lena, Helen, and brothers James and Harold.
