Bill Boston

November 17, 1937 — February 22, 2017

Bill O. Boston of Casper, Wyoming passed peacefully in his sleep the morning of February 22, 2017. The loving husband, devoted dad, and proud grandfather battled his numerous health issues for five years with courage, humor, and a great attitude. Bill was born November 17, 1937 in his beloved Scottsbluff, Nebraska to W.C. and Thelma Boston. Bill married the love of his life, Marlene Julis, in Scottsbluff during August of 1961. As a young man, Bill decided to serve his country and enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard where he proudly served for six years. He began his banking career at Scottsbluff National Bank as a teller and retired as Senior Vice President. Bill was proud of his work and enjoyed helping people accomplish their dreams. He was lucky to work with men and women whom he admired and respected. Bill was active in the Scottsbluff business community, Lions Club, St. Agnes Church and School, as well as Nebraska Western College. He and several friends were the founders of the NWC booster club and could be found in the front row of Cougar Palace cheering on the basketball team. He was later elected twice to the college's Board of Governors, and we cannot forget his deep love of everything in the Big Red Nation. The most important part of Bill's life, however, was his family. He always did what was best for his wife and kids, and he was an incredible example of how to be a husband and father. Bill loved hunting ducks and geese along the North Platte River with his sons and watching scary movies with his daughter. After his retirement, Bill and Marlene moved to Wyoming to be near their grandchildren. He was the greatest Grandpa of all time, just ask his grandkids. Bill teased and joked with all seven of them, and the kids loved every minute of it. Bill was a member of Golden K. Kiwanis Club in Casper where he volunteered as President, and he delivered Meals on Wheels until his health prevented him from continuing to serve the Casper community. Bill will be missed by his wife of Casper, daughter Lori Cetak (Brian) of Casper; son Duke (Holly) of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; son Chris (Erika) of Casper; Grandkids Jordan Boston (Jennifer); Allison Cetak; Emily Cetak; Megan Boston; Kylie Boston; Tyler Myers and Danika Myers. A celebration mass of Bill's life will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper at 11:00am. Lunch will be served at the church after the service with a private family inurnment later that day. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Casper Humane Society or St. Patrick's church in Casper would be appreciated. Bustards Funeral Home in Casper is in charge of arrangements.
