Beverly Jean Mathes was taken home to heaven on December 2nd, 2012. She was born in David City, Nebraska on January 16, 1936 to Donald and Eleanor Decker. At a young age she moved with her family to Cedar Falls, Iowa where she grew up and later graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1953. In 1956 she married Clyde R. Mathes and they moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1967. They had five daughters but later divorced. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker and mother to her children, she worked many years at K-mart, Control Data, and Wyoming Medical Center. She retired from Wyoming Medical Center in 2001. Beverly enjoyed being with friends and family, playing bingo with her two good friends, Deanna Farnes and Doris Mathes, and watching NFL football. She is survived by her five daughters: Pamela (Robin) Irwin, Casper, Carmela (Jim) Ballantyne, Bismarck, ND Sheri (John) Toone, Helena,MT Crystal (Andrew) Rees, Medford, OR, and Brenda (Steven) Ontario, CA, two younger brothers: Jim (Carol) Decker, Albuquerque, NM, Joel (Vicki) Decker, Prior Lake, MN, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Eleanor Decker, one younger brother, Donald (Bud) Decker, and longtime companion Larry Lidstrom. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VFW 9439 - 1800 Bryan Stock Trail, Casper, Wyoming or to the Senior Center, 1831 East 4th, Casper, WY, 82601. A memorial service will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., 600 CY Avenue, Casper. There will be a reception at the Senior Center, 1831 East 4th, Casper, following the services.
