Beulah Welch

January 7, 1923 — October 3, 2014

Beulah "Babe" Catherine Phillippi Welch went home to be with her beloved husband George Roy Welch of 72 years, and her two children, daughter Georgia Ann Welch-Schreiner and son Gary Leonard Welch on October 3, 2014. Babe was born in Somerset, Kentucky on January 7, 1923 to Ira Neal Phillippi and Mary Belle (Vaught) Phillippi. She was the younger of two children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Richard Phillippi and Mary Belle (Vaught) Phillippi; brother, Neal Richard Phillippi; husband, George Roy Welch; daughter, Georgia Ann Welch-Schreiner; and son, Gary Leonard Welch. She is survived by five grandsons, Ken (Carolyn) Nelson of Casper, Ricky Nelson of Casper, Brian (Krista) Welch, AZ, Brandon Welch, AZ, and Christopher (Stefanie) Welch, UT; four granddaughters, Tammy (David) Brooke, UT, Taresa (Ken) Schreiner, OR, Terra Welch, AZ, and Jennifer Schreiner, UT; 23 great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Babe was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints, and belonged to the Casper 1st Ward. Together with her husband they owned and operated Hilltop Standard Service for many years which they then sold and purchased a bowling alley in Lander, WY. From there, they moved to Orange County, California where she worked for a doctor's office for 20 years and dabbled in real estate on the side. One of her greatest joys was belonging to the Ladies Shrine of North America, Kheta Court #59. Within that court she served in many capacities including the "High Priestess". A viewing will be held at the LDS Wolf Creek Stake Center on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the service 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Beulah's name may be made to the Shriner Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
