Betty Jo Peacock died April 20, 2011 at Central Wyoming Hospice Center in Casper. She was the daughter of Fletcher and Josephine (Bennett) Robinson. She grew up in Mellette County, SD, east of Wood, SD. Betty Jo graduated from Gregory High School and attended college in Brookings, SD. She worked in a brokerage office in Hastings, NE for a summer and then returned to Mellette County to teach in a rural school. Betty Jo owned a reweaving business in Casper, WY, for several years in the 1950s. She also worked for many years in the office for the J.C. Penney Company. She worked in stores in Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, & South Dakota. Betty Jo married Fred Elvin Putnam November 26, 1948. To this union 3 children were born. Betty Jo married Lawrence James Peacock May 25, 1973. They lived at the Peacock's home ranch near Wood, SD. After Lawrence's death in 2003, Betty Jo moved to Scottsbluff, NE to be closer to her daughter, Lee Mosher. In 2008 she moved to Casper and lived her remaining years with her daughter, Ellen, and son-in-law, Gary; who affectionately called her Granny Buttons. She was a member of the Rosebud Valley Church and a Life Member of the American legion Auxiliary. Betty Jo loved her family and enjoyed music and dancing. She enjoyed hunting and all of the hunters that came to hunt pheasant, deer, antelope and various other critters at the Peacock Ranch. -Her life-was filled with love, laughter, and-hard work. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her sister - Dorothy and husband Lyle Peacock, her brother - Duane and his wife Dorothy Robinson, and her parents, Fletcher and Josephine Robinson. Betty Jo is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Gary) Williams of Casper, WY and Lee Ann (Scot) Mosher of Scottsbluff, NE and one son, Gary Putnam and his Significant Other Karla Fox, daughter-in-law Lila Putnam, two brothers - William (Donna) Robinson of Clipper Mills, CA and Kencel Robinson of Winner SD, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
