Betty Pawlowski

Betty Lou F. Pawlowski died July 3, 2011, at Wyoming Medical Center after a brief illness. She was cremated per her funeral arrangements. A funeral service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Betty was born in Culbertson MT Feb. 10, 1935, to Iver and Bertha Sundheim. The family lived on a farm outside of Froid, MT until her parents bought a farm outside of Fairview MT in the fall of 1942. The family later moved to a farm 20 miles from Fairview MT in an area called Sioux Pass where the remainder of the family lives today. Betty attended school in Fairview MT where she graduated from High School in 1953. She was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Bible School in the summers at Zion Lutheran Church, and churches at Sioux Pass, Fairview, and Cartwright ND. In the fall of 1953 she attended Concordia College in Moorhead MN and earned a one year Business Degree. In the fall of 1954 she attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls SD and majored in Social Work and Elementary Education. She met Larry Pawlowski and they were married in August 25, 1957. They moved to Casper WY in July of 1958 where Larry taught at Dean Morgan Jr. High School. They had two daughters, Nancy and Laura. They were divorced in 1994 after 37 years of marriage. She was an active member at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Casper WY, teaching Sunday School and Bible School as well as a member of the OSL Ladies Circle for several years. She also sewed many of her children's clothes and sewed kids clothes for charity in later years; she crocheted afghans for charity as well, and was a marvelous cook who donated to the annual church. bake sale. She dearly loved her daughters! And they dearly loved her. Betty is survived by her two daughters Nancy and Laura, her sister-in-law, 1 niece and 3 nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Iver, her mother Bertha, and her brother Richard "Dick" Sundheim. She requested that in lieu of flowers any donations can be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Seton House, Casper Humane Society, Parkinson's research, Cancer research or the donor's choice.
