Betty Lou Davis passed away Friday February 28th. 2014. She will forever be solving mysteries and murders. Betty was sitting in the comfort of her favorite TV chair, in the comfort of her own home. Betty was born in Sapulpa Oklahoma, May 8th 1927, an only child of Gordon and Mamie Davis. Betty was surrounded by her closest loving family, and caretakers, Pat Burgen, Marthajane Staight, Julie Kukas, Sylvia Kraft, and Trista Hunger. Betty fought long and hard with her emphysema. Betty had an exemplary and stellar career, over 40 years with the Amoco Refinery Corporation, in Oklahoma, Chicago Illinois, Denver Colorado, and Casper Wyoming. Some of Betty's favorite times were Denver Broncos games with Pat, and travelling the United States with her best friend the late June Randall. Betty would tell stories of the Mississippi River, Riverboats, Alaskan Cruises, and areas around the Grand Canyon. She always made it well known that we northerners had no idea how to make cornbread, as she always stated; "No Damned Yankee Cornbread"! Betty had favorite phrases, and always called herself a delicate "little hot house flower". Betty was an avid reader, loved the English language, and even had her own library built in her basement, with her books cataloged. Betty was known for enormous generosity to all her caretakers, and was always willing to give the shirt off her back to help anyone of them. Betty was always a great sounding board when a person had a bad day or difficult situation, and would listen for hours, then give them some very good educated advice to help a person through their times. Each day, Betty would stop, take in all her flowers and plants, and then look towards the mountain, checking out the weather, to see how the day would be. Betty was very independent and argued her case, then moved into a great educated discussion of the topic at hand, listened, and resolved the issue with the persons involved, making her point very clear. A memorial Service will be held at Bustards Funeral home at 10:00 am Tuesday March, 4th, 2014. Per Betty's wishes she will be taken to her home town of Sapulpa Oklahoma, with a service at the South Heights Cemetery Chapel and Cemetery grounds, on Thursday March 6th, 10:00 AM, and being laid to rest with her parents at South Heights Cemetery. Betty requested donations in lieu of flowers to the YMCA of Casper WY, and the Natrona County Public Library Foundation, Casper WY.
