Becky Lawson

January 2, 1952 — March 22, 2012

Becky Ann Lawson, 60, passed peacefully into the arms of Mother Nature on March 22, 2012 at 4:20 in the afternoon. She spent her last days at Central Wyoming Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. Becky was born on January 2, 1952 in Lusk, WY and attended school in Lance Creek, WY until 5th grade when she moved with her family to Tripoli, Libya. She attended the Oil Company School through Junior High and High School at Wheelus Air Force Base, graduating in 1969 as part of the last class. Becky's son Jason was born November 6, 1972. They got to explore Brunei on the island of Borneo while staying with her parents. After moving back to Wyoming, she lived in several places including Casper, Lovell, Lander, Laramie, Thermopolis and finally Cheyenne where she attended LCCC, graduating in 1992 with a Registered Nurse degree. Becky was one of the first nurses employed at Central Wyoming Hospice Home. She also worked in hospitals around the state as a traveling nurse, at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, and at Poplar Living Center. Becky hated being cold and loved nothing more than being able to sit on a beach and soak up the sun. For the last couple of years, she got to cruise with her sister, nieces and several friends in the Caribbean. Go Grannies Gone Wild! She is survived by her parents, Vernon "Babe" and Patricia (Johnson) Lee of Casper; son, Jason Daugherty (Alicia) of Buffalo, MN; sister, Monica Schulte (Roger) of Casper; nieces, Kelsey Scherling and Taylor Schulte, nephew Brandon Schulte (Brandee) and her loyal dogs Rosie, Peanut, Leroy and Gator, all of Casper. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Rollin and Lucille Johnson and paternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Lee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society or Central Wyoming Hospice Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bustard's. Cremation has taken place. Please join us to celebrate Becky's Life at the Eagles Hall, 306 N. Durbin, Monday, March 26 at 11:00 AM. Be casual and enjoy a light lunch with the family.
