Barbara Jean Stauch, 88, of Casper, passed away peacefully in her home of 54 years on Monday April 3, 2017. She was born to the late Frank and Beatrice May Koch, Nov. 19, 1928 in West Bend, Iowa. Barbara graduated from West Bend High School in 1946 and received an Associate's Degree in Home Economics/Teaching at Nebraska, Wesleyan in 1948. She married Chris Stauch Jr. on Feb. 22, 1953 and they lived together in Oakland, Iowa before moving to Kimball, Nebraska and then relocating to Casper, Wyoming in 1961. Barbara was a first grade teacher, homemaker, record keeper and administrative assistant at a variety of businesses during her career. She was passionate about family and retired in 1991 to spend her time travelling and mentoring her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She helped her mother in raising her younger sister as well as her 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was foremost and first a caring selfless mother. She enjoyed bowling, travelling, fishing and local athletics. She was a Kelly Walsh H.S., Casper College and University of Wyoming devoted fan. For over 40 years she cheered on basketball, volleyball and football. She loved to cook and can fresh vegetables, jams and jellies. Her garden was full of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, rhubarb and strawberries. The cookie jar was never empty of fresh homemade cookies and the pantry was always stocked with her loving skilled canning handiwork. Barb is survived by her younger sister Katherine Schultz of Fort Collins, Colorado, her sons Larry (Jill) of Casper and Dennis (Traci) of Bend, Oregon, daughters Carla of Casper and Sheila (Richard) Sibrel of Loveland, Colorado. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren Travis, Amanda, Ryan, Nicole, Hanna, Hilary, Krisha, Morgan, and Jordan. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren Samantha, Megan, Alexis, Bayden and Eberlee. She was preceded in death by her husband Chris Stauch Jr. on Nov. 19, 1974, her brother Richard Koch of Spencer, Iowa in 1985 and her parents, Frank and Beatrice of West Bend, Iowa.
