Barbara Gosman

May 25, 1930 — March 3, 2017

Barbara Gosman was born in Wheatland, Wyoming on May 25, 1930. She was raised in Montana, and graduating from Beaverhead County High School in Dillon, Montana. She attended the Colorado Women's college and Montana State University. She was married July 23, 1951 in Butte, Montana to her lifelong friend and companion, Bob Gosman. After their marriage, the couple went to Dartmouth College on a teaching fellowship where Bob completed his master's degree "in geology. The couple then returned to Wyoming with the Ohio Oil Company in 1951, living in Rawlins and Cody Wyoming. The couple then moved to Billings, Montana in 1956 where her husband worked for Mule Creek Oil company. In 1959, the family moved to Casper, Wyoming where Bob worked for Warren Morton of WKM Oil Company. Barbara had a lifelong interest in politics and served on many Levels, including a two year term on the DACOWITS National Advisory Committee on Women in the Service,where she traveled to many military bases. She enjoyed entertaining for friends and family in their homes in Casper and Phoenix, the beautiful Echo Mountain ranch and their all-time favorite, the Bar C Ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming. Barbara helped with many Campaigns and was a behind the scenes force in the success of a number of republican candidates for over 20 years. She developed a keen interest in fly-fishing, and traveled with her husband on many fly-fishing adventures. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, friend and companion and left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Robert Gosman, two children Jeff (Pam) Gosman, Debbie (Dave) Stoetzel and seven grandchildren. A small celebration of life for family and friends will be held at the Gosman family home at 1530 South Wolcott on March 11, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. Memorial Contributions may be made in Barbara's name to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 South Wilson Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601.
