Casper native and resident Barbara Bennett passed away on January 1st, 2019 at the family ranch outside of Kaycee where she was living. Barbara was born April 11th, 1933 in Casper, Wyoming to John and Anna Asich. She attended Casper schools while growing up in Casper and she graduated from Natrona County High School in 1951. Upon completing high school she went to work in the oil and gas industry for an oil company and then local geologists. Then in 1957, she married Richard "Dick" Bennett and they were married for 61 years until his death earlier in 2018. They had one son Robert Bennett. They enjoyed life in Casper where they raised their son. They enjoyed sports and especially playing golf together. Later in life, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them participate in school events. They took great pride in watching their grandchildren grow up. Barbara is survived by her son Robert, and his grandchildren, Peter-John, Mary, and Bleu. She loved life and she enjoyed cooking and playing bridge. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband and by her parents. Memorial contributions in Barbara's name would be welcomed by the family to either Central Wyoming Hospice or the Casper's Meals on Wheels or any charity of one's passion or choice. No services are planned and she will be placed next to her husband at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming.
