Audrey L. Neubauer, 88, passed away on January 28, 2018 in Boise, Idaho. She was born on February 5, 1929 in Correll, Minnesota. She was the second to the youngest of 5 sisters. Audrey attended school in Correll and Odessa Minnesota and was the prom queen her junior and senior year with 22 classmates. She attended college in Breckenridge, Minnesota taking secretarial classes. She also attended Wahpeton State School of Science. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 1 year before she married and became a housewife. While in college she attended a Lawrence Welk barn dance. Audrey needed a dance partner so she asked husband to be Laurence D. Neubauer, or "Ole" as everyone called him. Ole was in love at first sight and followed her to Minneapolis and later asked her to marry him. Ole and Audrey were married on November 12, 1950 in Odessa, Minnesota. Audrey and Ole belonged to a square dancing club and loved to socialize with neighbors and friends. Ole and Audrey moved to Casper, Wyoming and raised their four children. Tommy, Jesse, Danny and Yvonne. They lived on a 5 acre ranch east of Casper and loved training and showing Morgan Horses. Audrey was a great cook and always made twice the amount of food necessary. To Audrey, food was love and she so enjoyed having all of the family, and neighbors, come for holidays. Another of her great joys was to host a "Threshing Party" for friends, neighbors and relatives from Minnesota. When the men finished work in the oat field, a huge feast would be made followed by a large Polka Dance in the garage. Lots of laughter and fellowship those days. Audrey was also a huge sports fan and she loved to play cards and was ferociously competitive. Ole passed away in 2004 and Audrey moved to Boise, Idaho in 2005 to be closer to her kids. In 2008 she moved to an independent living facility call Morning Star where she made may lasting friends and loved her now home. Audrey is survived by her sons, Tom (Linda) Neubauer of Casper, Wyoming; Jesse (Junice) Neubauer of Boise, Idaho; Dan (Cindy)Neubauer of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and daughter, Yvonne (Doug) Hardman of Boise, Idaho. Also many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Laurence "Ole" Neubauer, her parents and two sisters, Faye and Shirley. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Oregon Trails State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Memorial donations may be made in Audrey's name to a charity of your choice. .
