Time here on Earth: 10/20/18 - 02/27/11 A Service of Christian Burial for Armin A. Schmitt will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday March 3,at St. Anthony's Church with a burial and reception following. A Celebration of Life in honor of Armin will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday March 6th at the First Presbyterian Church in the fellowship hall. A long time Casper resident, Armin A. Schmitt passed on from this earth during the morning of Sunday February 27th, 2011, to be with our Lord and Savior and many of his loved ones who passed on before him. He was born October 20, 1918 in Evansville, Indiana, to Arthur and Eda Schmitt. He was raised with his sister Doris and brother Donald. He attended elementary and high school in Evansville. He also attended Purdue University,flight school and was a pilot. He married Cecilia Ruth on August 16, 1942, who he met at a dance while stationed at FortWarren. He entered the Air Force in December of 1942 in Indianapolis, IN. He was advanced to the rank of Captain while stationed at a base in India. He served in World War II and was discharged October 1948 in California. He and his beloved wife Cecilia settled in Casper and raised three daughters. He was an entrepreneur,rancher and family man. A man who was very involved in helping his community in many ways including serving on the board of Chamber of Commerce, helping with the Ranch City Party and helping with the Association of Retarded Children. Most importantly he was a loving amazing man of God. He attended theFirst Presbyterian Church a Deacon in January 1991. He spent quality time on a daily basis with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He shared his love andfaith with us, shared his hobbies and interests with us such as hiking, fishing, his interest in airplanes, mechanics, entrepreneurship, history and photography. He taught us about the most important things in life such as God, family, people and good character. Family that he has still here on Earth include: his oldest daughter, Cecilia of Rawlins, her husband Don Cuin, their children and their spouses; his grandchildren, Chrystal, Dona, Mike, Mat andPat; along with various great grandchildren who live in various parts of the U.S. His family here in Casper includes his middle daughter Margaret Schmitt, his youngest daughter Rebecca Marquez and her children; his grandchildren Jesse and Jesse's wife Jamie with their three children Antonio, Taylor and Chloe; Andrea and her husband Elijah, and Justin, Mario, Joshua, Adriana and Alexandra. He also has nephews, Ace of Casper, Mark, Douglas and Mike and their families living in Columbus. He had and has many friends and loved ones verydear to his heart and he is very dear to ours. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and hope you can join us as we reflect upon his life. We pray for love and blessings of the Lord and Savior to be strong in your life.
