Casper- Arlie Lorine Cornella, 96, passed peacefully January 22, 2023 at Hospice (Chapman) Home in Casper. She was born in Strool, S.D. to Artie Hullinger and Alice B. Ogard on July 21, 1926.
Arlie grew up in Strool, S.D., attended school until 5th grade, then one year in Hot Springs, S.D., then on to Deadwood, S.D. for 5 years. Her family moved to Casper for her senior year and she graduated in 1944. After graduation she went to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the FBI until marrying Joe A. Cornella on July 14, 1947 in Washington, D.C.
After moving back to South Dakota she raised her family until 1954, then moved to Sundance, W.Y. where she worked at Boyd’s Super Market and made homemade doughnuts. In 1970 she divorced and moved to Casper, W.Y. where she worked at K-Mart, Control Data Corp., made draperies, A7E Electric, Locke Engineering and Walt’s Meat Processing.
Arlie is survived by Judy A. Ramsey and Trudy M. Beavers - Casper, W.Y. Randy and Connie Cornella – Sundance, S.D., and Dale Charles (Chuck) and Terry Cornella – Thermopolis, W.Y. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Mary Scott – Sturgis, S.D. and Rose Cornella – Rapid City, S.D. and many more to numerous to mention. Arlie was preceded in death by her father Artie Jackson Hullinger, step-father Merb Spaulding, mother Alice B. Spaulding, grandparents, two sisters, Mary Alice Barrara – A.Z. and “Sox” Bessie McConahay – Casper, son-in-law Steven Ramsey and one grandchild Carrie Ann Schott.
Arlie loved having her family around, doing crafts, woodworking, fishing, watching baseball, roller skating and bowling. She will be dearly missed by all. Cremation has taken place at Bustard’s Funeral Home in Casper and no services are planned at this time.
