Ann Wheaton Entrekin, 75, of Casper, WY, passed away on November 19, 2023, at Wyoming Medical Center following a brave battle with leukemia.
Ann was born on April 15, 1948, to Ruth and JM “Dude” Richards in Holdenville, OK. From there the family moved to Cody and eventually landed in Casper. She graduated from NCHS in the class of 1966. While working at Kassis Department Store, she was introduced to her future husband, Bob. On June 6, 1970, she married the love of her life at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Casper, WY. She spent her career assisting the people of Casper with their insurance.
For many years, she and Bob had many adventures together. They both shared many stories from their time traveling with Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps as Bob drove one bus, and Ann chaperoned another. In June, 1981, she started the new adventure of being a mother. She took the job of being an overprotective mom very seriously. She was dedicated to being at every event. She passed on many life lessons. One of the greatest was what it means to stand beside your spouse through the hard times.
One of Ann’s greatest joys in life was shopping and if she could find a deal or use a coupon, even better. From bargain hunting in outlet malls to browsing in high end stores, she had sixth sense on where to find a deal. Ann also loved being able to share laughs and stories over a great meal or a cup of coffee. Ann also shared many a day with Bob going to car shows, watching football and baseball, and traveling when they could.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bob. Her daughter Amber Day (Marshall). Her sister Suzy Davis (Bob). As well as cousins, nieces, and their families.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Ann’s name to the Casper Humane Society.
