Ann Davis

Annie Jewel (Mapp) Davis Mrs. Davis age 85, passed over October 18, 2014 at Life Care Center, Nursing Home of Casper, Wyoming. She was born December 14, 1928 in Decatur, Mississippi of Newton County. In 1948, she moved to Casper where she has lived since that time. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Davis, Sr., of 54 years of marriage. This holy union produced two children. Mrs. Davis was very active in the community. She was a member of Christ First Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Served on the Deaconess Board, Financial Committee, and later became one of the ‘Mothers of the Church'! She later joined Imitate the Image under the leadership of Rev. William Pierce. As she became incapacitated she worshipped with Healing Waters Ministries, an online ministry by her son-in-law, Apostle Benjamin D. Watson, Sr. The Church Community is where she was known as the "Fashionista" especially for her hats that she adorned. Mrs. Davis was also known for her culinary skills as well. A member of the NAACP of Casper and Ann Davis was a member of the Star of the West #8 Casper, Wyoming Chapter, O.E.S., Columbine Grand Chapter. Mrs. Davis was a "Beautician" but spent most of her life as a "Homemaker". She nurtured many of her nephews and nieces in her home. She was preceded in death by her mother Annie Mae (Minor) McCord. Six brothers: Herbert, Robert, Willie Lee, R. B., J. V., John Mapp and one sister, Emma Lee Williams. Survivors include her children Robert L. Davis, Jr. (Sheree) of Denver, CO, and Debbie Watson (Benjamin) of Denver, CO. She is also survived by one brother, R. W. Mapp (Casper); six grandchildren: Brittany Gaiter, Christopher Gaiter, Cheniece Davis, Ryan Beckman, Benjamin Watson, Jr. and Ashlei Watson; four great-grandchildren: Italie Watson, Neriyah Gaiter, Rylee Beckman and Najiyah LaChapelle. A special thank you to all who has brought comfort to our family by your kind words, deeds, and thoughts. To those who shared with food and drinks thank you. May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob find it in His heart and wisdom to bless you all.
