Anita Mills passed away Tuesday December 28, 2010, at the Wyoming Medical Center following a courageous battle with breast (bone) cancer. A celebration of Anita's life will be held at 2 P.M. Friday December 31, 2010 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery, Evansville, Wyoming. Cremation has already taken place. Anita was born August 9, 1924 to William and Lila Townsend, in Crawford Nebraska. She moved to Wyoming as a young child and settled in Casper, Wyoming in 1929. Anita married James Stanley Mills in Casper on June 5, 1942. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Stan, April 22, 1992, a son James W. Mills, March 21, 1991, and two brothers, Winfield Townsend and Floyd Townsend. She is survived by a son, Bryan Mills (Shirley) of Gillette, Wyoming, a son, Thomas Mills (Nancy) of Casper Wyoming, and a daughter, Marcia Berry (Steve) of Tucson, Arizona. Anita had 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren with one on the way. Anita was an accomplished pianist, spending many hours entertaining family and friends. She will always be remembered for the old fashion rag time tunes she loved. Anita loved to cook and did so for many family holidays; her recipes are still handed down and traditional at family holidays. Memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice.
