Andrew Anton Czellecz, was born (first) on September 1, 1970, to Anton and Ann (Schleicher) Czellecz in New Britain, Connecticut. Andy has a twin brother Wally, and was always quick to say that Andy was “older by 2 minutes and the good looking one”, but to everyone else they were identical.
Andy attended school in New Britain and Dalton Massachusetts. In 1985 they moved to Casper where they attended Dean Morgan Junior High and graduated in 1989 from Natrona County High School.
Andy worked at A & W Restaurant for several years and then Woodward Machine Shop where he made race car steering components. Whenever watching racing on TV, he would proudly point out the Woodward sticker on cars and say, “I made those”.
In 1993 Andy met Candace (Ricks) on a blind date and they were married in 1994. In 1996 they welcomed son Andrew “Tanner” and in 2000 daughter Madison Dell.
When the kids were young, Andy coached and volunteered for all their activities, including coaching football and proudly being a dance dad. Tanner and Madison knew their dad as a funny, constant fan of anything and everything they did. He always showed up and treated everyone in the same generous way. Many of the kid’s friends referred to him as their “second” dad.
Andy joined his brother-in-law John Johnson, in starting CY Discount Liquor and together they grew businesses of four successful liquor stores. Andy genuinely cared about his customers, he wanted to know their names, razz them, and help them if he could. Andy was aptly nicknamed “The Mayor” because he greeted everyone and shook their hand as if he had always known them.
He rocked out to heavy metal music, camping with his family, riding the RZR, taking unplanned day trips, having the last word, and playing golf.
Andy was a teacher, of sorts. He excelled at giving his family “pointers” about how to mow the yard correctly, snow blow efficiently, start a campfire precisely, and win at slots. Although Andy did not specifically instruct his kids on how to give hugs and respect others, they learned it anyway. He was determined to give his own kids a better life than he had…and indeed, he did.
Andy died at Wyoming Medical Center on April 4th due to a Cardiac Arrest.
He is survived by Candace, his wife of 29 years, his son, Tanner (Shaylee), grandson Kelton and future granddaughter Warryn, daughter Madison and her boyfriend Jensen.
Other survivors include his “younger” twin brother Wally, nephew Joey, niece Grace (Dillon), great niece Everlee, Sister and brother-in-law Shawna & John Johnson, mother and father in-law, Linda and Corky Story.
The family also wants to honor Andy’s Uncle Walt and Aunt Marion Schleicher who stepped in as parents to help raise the boys and helped make them to who they are today. Numerous cousins, family and friends.
Andy was proceeded in death by his parents, his older brother Tony, and his sister-in-law, Chimene Czellecz.
The Memorial Service will be held at Highland Park Community Church on April 21st at 11 AM with a reception to follow at Wyoming Ale Works.
The family requests that everyone wear red for Andy’s beloved Boston Red Sox, your favorite Rock band (Especially SLAYER) t shirt or Hawaiian shirt.
