Allen George Sundquist died on July 9, 2014, at the Sheridan VA Hospital after a lengthy illness. Allen was born August 7, 1953, in Douglas Wyoming. At age two he and his older sister, Kathy, were adopted by Mervin and Bonita Sundquist. They were raised in Douglas, Riverton, Gas Hills and Glendo, Wyoming. Allen joined the Navy in 1972. He was stationed in San Diego California and Portland Oregon. He served on the USS Osbourn off the coast of Vietnam during that time. He was honorably discharged-in 1975. Allen worked in construction helping build the courthouse in Douglas and other buildings in the region. Allen graduated from Casper College with an Associate's Degree in Computer Science. He worked for the VA Hospital in Cheyenne in admissions. In 1977 he became disabled in a work related accident and was unable to work after that injury. Allen married Joan Bryan on May 1, 1971, and they later divorced. Their daughter Amy was born April 12, 1973. Allen married Bonnie Marshal in October 24, 1976. They divorced in 1980. Allen was very involved in the Douglas Jaycees helping to organize many charity events to benefit the community. He was a member of Disabled Veterans and the VFW. Allen is survived by his daughter Amy Jo Tomlinson, his sister, Kathy (Carl) Hildebrand, nephews, John Hildebrand, Kevin (Josie) Hildebrand and Mark (Destiny) Hildebrand. He is also survived by sister, Kimberly Watson of Ft. Morgan, Colorado and brothers Hank Orr, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bill Harris of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bob McMahon of Indianapolis, Indiana. Also surviving is his sister in law Tylea Harris of Forsyth Missouri, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Bonita Sundquist, grandparents William and Arizona Tylee, and William and Hilda Sundquist, and brother Dale Harris. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, WY. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard.
