Albert Anderson

Albert David "Pete" Anderson, 92, passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, June 28th at home with family. Pete was born in Casper, Wyoming on October 12, 1923 to the parents of, George and Cora Anderson. He was the youngest of four children; William, Robert, and Helen. Pete graduated from Natrona County High School in 1941 and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Navy Air Force. He was an aviation radioman, while he flew in TBM VC-14 aboard the U.S.S. Hoggatt Bay in Task Groups; 10.4, 12.2, 30.7, 30.3, and Layta operation. Pete received six stars in the Asiatic Pacific area and two stars in the Philippine Liberation. After his service in the war, Pete graduated from the University of Wyoming and received a Bachelor of Science. He met the love of his life, Doris Rae Law and married her on June 5, 1954. Pete worked and traveled for multiple oil companies. Pete was a man of his word and accomplished anything he put his mind to. He started his own accounting firm and retired his position as a public accountant in 2003. Pete loved anything involving his family and friends. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and traveling. His favorite home-away-from-home was a trailer at Alcova Lake, where he spent time watching his family and loved giving rides on his boat. Pete was proud to attend the last Honor Flight in October 2011. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Robert; his sister, Helen; and his parents, George and Cora. He is survived by wife, Doris Anderson; daughter, Lori (Anderson) Puhrman; son, Thomas Anderson; granddaughters, Cassie and Lydia Puhrman; great granddaughters, Adyana and Briella Terry; nieces, nephews, cousins; and friend, Mike Anderson. The memorial is at 10a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Donations can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or any affiliation with the VFW. Bustard's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
