Adrian Simonson

August 18, 1936 — July 9, 2020

Adrian Alvie Simonson was one of the second set of twins born to Oscar George Simonson and Nida Margret Simonson.  Adrian and his sister, Ada were born 18 August, 1936 in Thermopolis, WY.

Adrian served in the Army from July 1955 to July 1961, (which included the Korean Conflict).

Adrian married Rose Ada Sellers on May 18, 1956, in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.   Four sons were born to them: Joseph Lee Simonson, Jay Martin Simonson, Paul Allen Simonson, and Samuel George Simonson.  Adrian lost Joseph, Jay and Sam in a house fire.  Adrian’s wife, Rose, died 27 April, 1967.

On 3 June, 1968, Adrian married his second wife, Jean Marie Collins in the Logan, Utah Temple. His work for Rural Electrification Administration, (REA), eventually took him to Alaska where Adrian and Jean began to care for foster children.  The couple decided to adopt one of their foster children, Linda Louise Simonson.

On 24 June, 1991, his second wife, Jean, died from cancer, leaving Adrian twice a widower.

On 15 December, 1992, Adrian married his third wife, Linda Lou Sellers Simonson, in LaVerkin, Utah. Adrian supported his third wife through many years of college and 7 college degrees.  He made a special effort to be present to greet and care for each new grandchild as (s)he came into the world.

Adrian looked forward to the day when he would again be reunited with his family on the other side of the veil.  He rejoined them on 9 July, 2020.  Adrian was preceded in death by seven brothers: Phillip Oscar Simonson, Donald Warren Simonson, Kenneth Duane Simonson, Lyle Elmer Simonson,  Norval Boyce Simonson, Thayne Halver Simonson, and Wayne Elden Simonson; two sisters: Georgia Elnora Margret Simonson Miller, and Ada Dorina Simonson McIntyre; two wives: Rose Ada Sellers Simonson, and Jean Marie Collins Simonson; three children: Joseph Lee Simonson, Jay Martin Simonson, and Samuel George Simonson; and one granddaughter, Lydia Dawn Simonson.
