Gordon Sommer

Memorial services for Gordon Sommer will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church with Rev. Debbie Cato officiating. Cremation has been held under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home. Gordon, 73, passed away August 8, 2012 at his home in Casper. He was born November 17, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of William and Clara Lou (DeVries) Sommer. He received two degrees, one in Chemistry and the other in Business. Gordon worked as Sales Manager for Fleischli Oil Company. Mr. Sommer belonged to the Elks, Sigma Phi Epsilon and the Presbyterian Foundation. His interests and hobbies include the Chicago Bears Football Team, skiing, golfing, hunting, fishing, current events, the economy, politics and debating, symphony enjoyment, Chicago Cubs baseball and giving to charities. His survivors include his daughter, Shelli Sommer, granddaughter, Stephani Sommer, both of Cheyenne, son, William (Bo) Sommer of Pittsburgh, PA, sister, Carla (Kin) Scott of Colorado Springs, CO, brother, Wil Sommer of Atlanta, GA and nephew, Clifford Clarke of Atlanta,GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frederick Sommer and Clara Lou Sommer. The family would appreciate memorials to the Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, Central Wyoming Hospice or the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra.
