Carolyn Root

Kay was born on July 1, 1945 in Fruita, Colorado to Trollie and Marie Bittle. She died on April 7, 2022 due to complications of pneumonia.

She married Jerry Clark and together they lived in Williston, ND and later moved to Casper, WY.

They later divorced.

Kay worked as an accountant and later did accounting in her home when she married Donald K. Root. They were married until his passing in 2006.

Kay enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing darts and card games where she made many lifelong friends. She played cards and golfed at Paradise Valley Country Club. She was a master Bridge Player. With ever sporting activity she gave 110%.

Cooking was also a favorite pastime and Kay always had a “recipe for that”.

Kay had fun at the happy hour “support groups” at Alcova lake on the weekends. She really enjoyed her time spent at the Greg's Cabin.

Her friend Buddy (Schnauzer) was left behind when Merle passed away and from that moment on, she took loving care of him each day. They kept each other going.

Survivors include: her brother Dale (Patty) Bittle of Loma, Colorado.

From Jerry’s family, she is survived by her stepdaughters, Lillie (Clark) Modic, San Lorenzo, CA and her husband, and their children, and Beth Clark of Washington.

From Don’s family, Greg of Casper, his daughter, Tiffany, and her children, Bayleigh and Lukus of Casper, Drake of Arizona, Vance, of Colorado, Terri of Colorado.

Merle Bittle was Kay’s friend and companion until the time of his death in 2018.

From Merle’s family she is survived by his sister Judy Winebarger (Rimrock, Arizona) and her son, Justin, Merlene Maddox (Leo), daughters Colbi (Carl Hill) and Lauren, of Casper, Wyoming, Gary Bittle, (Charla) of Riverton, Wyoming, Kendra Aanestad (Jason) of Eagle, Idaho and Jasie Moore (Joe) of Riverton, Wyoming.

Kay will be missed by all.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at a later date this summer.
